Shalom and thank you for visiting my little corner of the web. This is a personal blog site, written from my perspective as a rabbi, as a husband and as a (grand)father. I aspire to share my spiritual ideals and my thoughts about religion, family, community and the world we live in. I am glad you are visiting today and hope you enjoy this site.
I am a Netzarim Jewish Rabbi, a member of the International Assembly for Netzarim Judaism, and have been very fortunate to receive smicha from several wonderful teachers.
Netzarim Judaism is a non-Talmudic form of Judaism. As with our Karaite brethren, we recognize Tanakh as the source of Halakhah and do not accept Talmud as authoritative or binding. We believe there have been prophets beyond what is recorded in the written Torah, that God continues to speak to us today, but that writings outside the Hebrew Bible are inspirational and guiding, not sources of law; they point us to understanding, but authentic prophecy never denies or contradicts Gods word in the Hebrew Bible. Netzarim Judaism holds that the individual is responsible for understanding and applying Jewish law in their own lives, guided by Torah and the individual conscious.
